It’s definitely a first edition. With the exception of the recent (and very clearly marked) facsimile edition, there was only ever the one edition. Kris suggests a price of $250 to $500 (USD), depending on condition. (It looks quite good to me from your photos!)

I don’t sell books myself – I suggest you either find a rare book seller that will offer a fair price, or try eBay.

I am writing to you to request help with the identifying of a possible 1st edition of “The Gremlins” by Roald Dahl. The book I have is in very good condition with a dust cover in poor condition. I know very little about collectable books so I need all the help I can get.

I don’t think it is a first edition as it does not read “First Edition”. It does not however in any way seem to indicate that it is a re-printing or secomdary edition. I am attaching a photo of the copyright page.

Any help you or any other experts can provide would be much appreciated. Times are tight, and since my family does not collect books or Disney, I will be selling it – hopefully to someone who will actually enjoy it. Do you also help with that service? Thank you! -David

You have done a great deal of work bringing all the Ion Idriess books and ideas together. I am hoping you might know how to help me find who currently holds the rights to these works? I have tried going through the publishers and they have shut down and have no ongoing contacts that are easily traceable. We are looking to produce a short film based on his diaries and need to acquire non exclusive rights to one of the works.

Specifically in the areas I am associated with, there is little or no approach to KM. But I do see an understanding of the need for a KM approach, even if there is no move to actually commit to it.

I was thinking of pushing as much as I can by subversion…:)
